Maiden Moose

Maiden Moose studio began when artist and graphic designer Domenique decided to capture the richness of the Wicklow countryside from her home in one of the county’s seaside towns. Deep earth tones and loamy textures are found in all of her drawings, along with the heavy steel grey skies and wan sunlight that make Winter walking in Ireland so atmospheric. Domenique’s approach to illustration feels straight out of a storybook, her otherworldly characters fire the imagination as we meet a whale in dark waters sporting a beret, or a couple of long necked geese in heavy tweed. Always present in her crisp woods are Domenique’s faithful dogs, being both her hiking companions and picnic guests. Looking through the layers of rocky hillside and oak trees feels like a marvelous adventure where the magic in the woods whispers folk stories to those who can sit calmly and listen.
